Resilience is an Art

Keep Moving

Forward!

There seems to be a vein that runs through human existence that compels us to run away from challenges, to surrender when the going gets tough and to recount the difficult experience to anyone who will listen.

In the end all you do is give yourself an out; an excuse; a wonderful procrastination technique that comforts you and convinces you that you can do it again later.

But “Someday Isle” is not an island in the Pacific… It’s an internal message that our Never Quit principle seeks to eliminate and help all of us remember to DO IT NOW! Tomorrow is not promised. And when you fall down, get back up. “Nana Korobi Ya Oki!” Fall down seven, stand up eight.

Fun Facts

When I was writing my first book in 1990, I would write up to 16 hours per daily session for an entire year. The only time I stopped each day was to watch the classic TV Series: “The Fugitive” starring David Janssen. It became a daily ritual. My fiance at the time found it inspiring.

Apparently, I am a “Dad Joke” enthusiast who will take every opportunity to fill in the blanks with a humorous alternate perspective.

I’m a Night Owl… Some of my best work is accomplished when the world around me is sleeping.

I tend to coin phrases for an entire cross-section of activities, and have especially created them for my sons and students. One especially popular phrase was after someone in my Adult Kickboxing Class tried to get sympathy from a fellow classmate when he sighed during a hard workout: “I’m Dying!” I overheard him and barked in my classic voice; “You can be dying, but don’t be dead!” The phrase seemed to resonate with everyone on the floor. The energy remained consistent after that!

“I was born at night, but it wasn’t last night!”
